This is my old friend Ceppie Maes' outlaw soapbox racer, replete with custom-molded bodywork, hand-hewn steel hubs laced to chopper-bike 12-inch alloy rims and low-profile tires. Cep is notorious for his style, creativity and clever repurposing in soapbox circles, and he's a regular on the podium at these crazy events. The San Fernando Valley International (or is it Illegal?) Soap Box Federation hosts races on a semi-regular basis. I pitted for Ceppie at this event last year:
When I finish my CB450 project I WILL get back into the gravity-powered vehicle game.
