We Are Family



Before JD King, The Harpoon and all my other '60s-lovin' chopper freak friends, there was Lee Conklin.



Lee Conklin was a seminal player in San Francisco's acid-fueled Height-Asbury scene, and my second cousin. My grandma and Lee's father were brother and sister.


Cousin Lee is still painting, but none of his work is fueled by the psychedelic mindfuck cocktails of his youth.


Pity, really, because a gas tank with artwork like this would Shut It Down at the next DicE premier party…
