Four Dead in Ohio…

… and a very Big Three on life support in Detroit. Neil Young has a plan for America's automotive future, and it's shockingly simple. Here's an excerpt from the singer/songwriter's LincVolt project:

"The big three must reduce models to basics. A truck, an SUV, a large family sedan, an economy sedan, and a sports car. Use existing tooling…"

Why haven't "car guys" Carlos Ghosn or Bob Lutz thought of that?

If Neil's LinkVolt wins the Automotive X prize, it will be a banner year for hippies, tree huggers and stoners worldwide.

Good luck, Mr. Young.
